What book could you read over and over again? I have so many books I love. I’ve been reading since I was two and a half years old. That’s a lot of books. So, eliminating my early reads like The Cat in the Hat and Nancy Drew, I’ll move on to my adult favorites. When I was about ten years old my father gave me … Continue reading What Do You Like to Read?
Do you believe in fate/destiny? I believe we have choices. While we may have a final destination chosen by a higher power, we are free to choose the path we journey to get there. Whether we come as teachers, learners, or a combination, we are born with a specific goal or destiny. Continue reading
When I first published this blog in 2023 I never suspected gaslighting would become common. Here we are in 2026 and it’s entered today’s dating world. While chatting with my eighteen year old granddaughter the subject came up. Although she has never experienced gaslighting, one of her friends had. This conversation started me thinking about gaslighting on a larger scale. In 1938, the title of … Continue reading Gaslight

True wealth is the wealth of the soul
I write southern historical fiction, local history, and I've written a devotional book. The two novels I'm writing are set in Virginia and the Carolinas in the 1760s. My weekly blog started out to follow my journey as a writer and a reader, but in 2025 it has been greatly expanded to include current events and politics in the United States as I see our democracy under attack from within. The political science major in me cannot sit idly by and remain silent.
